Project developer Dutch Housing Company and Giesbers Ontwikkelen en Bouwen from Wijchen signed an agreement on Friday 8 October for the realisation of 33 luxury residential villas. The parties have already jointly realised an appealing project in the higher price segment in Arnhem, Sylva's Bos, and are now continuing this successful collaboration with the realisation of the exclusive Long Island plan in 's-Gravenzande.
Long Island is one of the most beautiful subplans in the Waelpark area development in 's-Gravenzande. The residential villas are situated on an island, near the Plas van Alle Winden and will all have their own mooring for a sloop. Via the Poelwatering, Long Island is directly connected to the Westland's waterways. By contracting Giesbers, Dutch Housing Company has a professional construction partner for this project with whom it can more than live up to Long Island's high ambition and quality.
Urban planning & architecture
The design of Long Island is by Mulleners + Mulleners architects from Haarlem. The urban design is a beautiful island with spacious plots connected to greenery and water. Inspired by the rich architecture of the New Hamptons near New York, the villas will have expressive fenestration with lots of light, large Dutch windows and characteristic elements that enhance the streetscape. Long Island New Hampton Style is aimed at the gourmet, at lovers of the rich good life. The villas have living areas of approx. 160 to 200 m² and plot areas of approx. 275 to over 800 m².
Forward
The development and realisation of Long Island creates room for through-flow in the Westland housing market. The spacious villas in the higher price segment create multiple relocation movements in the existing housing market, creating supply for different target groups there as well and helping to reduce the urgent housing shortage.
