Living on an island - who doesn't dream of that? On Long Island in 's-Gravenzande, that dream has become reality. We are proud to present the result of a particularly successful project.
Designed in Hampton Style, this new neighbourhood in 's-Gravenzande in the municipality of Westland comprises 33 luxury residential villas with a rich variation in architecture. Extra distinctive is the combination with nature. Situated on an island, the villas enter into a fantastic alliance with the water and greenery. Architect Ton Mulleners, who designed this project with visible pleasure indicates: "There are virtually no new-build projects with such a high level of ambition as Long Island".
The urban design of the beautifully located island with spacious plots - fully connected to greenery and surrounded by water - requires a matching, high-quality architecture. The result: a select group of 33 unique villas with their own identity coming from one luxury family, based on the typical New Hampton style.
Characteristic are the light façades, the white values that can be found throughout the architecture in the form of various accents. For example, in the designed wind feathers in the roofs and the special, cantilevered window frames, in the large windows overlooking the jetties, and in the rich variety of extensions, bay windows and garden fences. And the façade colour scheme? That is deliberately designed alternating colours in greyish blue, warm-grey or papyrus white for a varied streetscape, similar to the country houses of New York.
The villas on Long Island are really beautifully located: always surrounded by greenery and right on the water. Each villa has its own jetty, giving residents direct access to the Westland's sailing routes. A unique living experience in the middle of nature.
Long Island was realised by Dutch Housing Company and Giesbers Ontwikkelen en Bouwen from Wijchen/Rotterdam, in collaboration with ONW and Westland Municipality. We are proud of the result and grateful for the pleasant cooperation. And we wish the residents much happiness and pleasure living on Long Island.
